about

Boll Weevils is a song about the absolute struggle of the working class to get ahead in this badly corrupt society. The housing market in much of North America is a classic example of the rich abusing their power and wealth to engage class warfare. Solidarity is the bedrock of lifting up the poor.

lyrics

I push that rock
I try to hide
I’m laying in the grass
And I’m prepared to die

It’s a hot night
Like every night
I can’t get ahead
That’s no goddamn surprise

We’re all creatures of habit
We pay 10 times the rent to sleep in an attic

It’s on the line
Rich and poor
I’m at the front
This is another war

Will I win?
And push that rock
I’m going all the way
Up to the top

Close your eyes
Sit back
Let your body relax
And your mind set loose
I want you to imagine a world
Where you can feel free
I want you to imagine a true land of opportunity

We’re all creatures of habit
We pay 10 times the rent to sleep in an attic

And one more time
Raise your hands
In solidarity with the other families

It is time
